Donald D. Sandoval,
Ex Officio Member
Don realized his calling to the health care profession while
he was still in college at Marshall University working towards
his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Don
went on to earn a Master’s degree in Hospital Administration
from Duke University and has spent the past 36 years in
this field. He was hired as a hospital administrator for
a Wisconsin hospital at the age of 24.
Before coming to Angel Medical Center in July 2006, Don
was the Dillon CEO for McLeod Health based in Florence,
South Carolina. He has found the people in Macon County
“warm and open” reminding him of his West Virginia
roots. Don is also impressed with the physicians, whom he
calls “very professional, very serious about their
patients and practice,” and is grateful for the “very
supportive” board. He sees the growth of the population
and the growth of the retiree segment as “a positive
trend for the community and hospital. I am committed to
the growth and development of Angel Medical Center.”
Don and his wife Susie live in Franklin where he enjoys
sports, movies, and reading.
