Ron Winecoff, Chair
Originally from Mooresville, NC Ron spent a number of years
in the insurance industry working for Hartford Insurance
Group in the cities of Atlanta, Charlotte, Minneapolis,
and Syracuse. He came to Franklin as the first full-time
County Manager in 1969 serving until 1975. Relying on his
background in the insurance industry, over the next twenty-five
years Ron worked with Wayah Insurance, a provider of property
and casualty lines. Ron is currently a broker with the Nikwasi
Real Estate Group in Franklin where he lives with his wife
Billi Black.
Ron received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business
from Pfeiffer College. He has a history of service to the
communities where he lives. He has served as Past President
of the Franklin Rotary Club, with the Franklin Jaycees,
as Past Chairman of the Macon County Industrial Commission,
and with Angel Community Hospital (now Angel Medical Center).
Ron has also served on the Board of Directors for Western
NC Tomorrow and the Foundation Board of Southwestern Community
College. He continues his commitment to the promotion of
Macon County with his civic involvement.
Ron views his role as an advocate for the Foundation for
Angel Medical Center and hopes “To assist Angel Medical
Center to provide the best care possible to the citizens
of Macon County and the surrounding area.”
