Roberta Bowles, Secretary
Roberta is the Director of the Women &
Children’s Unit at Angel Medical Center where she
has worked for the past fourteen years. Originally from
Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Roberta attended high school in
Venice, Florida and went to LPN school at Pearl River Community
College, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She earned an Associate
degree in Nursing from Edison Community College and then
her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Graceland
University. Roberta’s previous experience includes
working in the operating room, medical/surgical unit and
maternal/child units at Lee Memorial Hospital, Fort Myers,
Florida. She was also employed by a reproductive endocrinologist
as in-vitro fertilization coordinator, working in the field
of IVF (infertility medicine).
Roberta became interested in the idea of
a hospital foundation by attending to a Century Club meeting.
“I truly love this hospital and I can see the growth
that has taken place over the fourteen years that I have
worked here. I want to see the community and the staff participate
in charting the future of the hospital. I believe we can
do this by creating a foundation where staff and residents
of the community can contribute and prove Angel Medical
Center is truly a community hospital.”
Roberta and her husband Tolley, a principal
at South Macon Elementary School, enjoy living in the Franklin
community and have become an integral part of it. She likes
to spend time with their three children and one grandchild.
Her hobbies include gardening and cooking.
