Extremity
CT
Overview-
An extremity CT scan demonstrates “cross sectional”
images of the desired extremity. It shows detailed images
of the bones and/or fracture site.
Preparation-
There is no preparation required.
Length of Exam-
The extremity CT scan will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes.
How is the exam performed?
You will be asked to lie on the CT table. The technologist
will remove anything metallic or anything that may cause an
artifact or interfere with imaging the extremity. You must
lie very still during the procedure.
Results-
Please contact your physician for the results of your test.
The results will be available within a couple of days.
