Spine
CT Scan
Overview-
A spine CT takes “cross sectional” images of your
spine. CT is often used to show fractures in the spine better
than routine radiographs. It is also used to image the spine
on patients with chronic back pain.
Preparation-
No preparation is required.
Length of exam-
The Spine CT Scan will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes.
How is the exam performed?
You will be asked to remove any metallic particles for the
portion of the spine being imaged. You may be asked to change
into a gown. You will lie on the CT table while the machine
images your spine.
Results-
Please contact your physician for the results of your test.
The results will be available within a couple of days.
