Liver/Spleen Scan
Overview-
This test is performed to determine the approximate integrity
and function of the reticuloendothelial system (RES) and to
identify any space occupying lesions in the liver or spleen.
Preparation-
No preparation is necessary.
Length of exam-
60 minutes
How will the test be performed?
The technologist will inject a radioactive tracer into a vein
in your arm. After a short waiting period, you will lie on
a table and the camera will rotate 360 degrees around your
body while taking pictures.
Results-
Please contact your physician for the results of your test.
The results will be available within a couple of days.
