For Expectant Mothers

We are pleased that you have chosen Angel Medical Center for your healthcare needs. We know that you have questions about our billing procedures, and we believe the information below will help you understand the hospital’s billing process.

You should pre-admit shortly after your first visit with your doctor. Your insurance will be verified and benefits determined. The business office can help you make financial arrangements for payment of your hospital stay. We will assign you an account number on your pre-admit visit. We will be glad to answer any questions you have concerning your delivery. You may contact us at 369-4188 between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday through Friday.

Angel Medical Center acts as an agent four our patients in filing for insurance benefits assigned to us, however, the hospital can assume no responsibility for guaranteeing payment from your insurance carrier. Any pre-certification and or second surgical opinion is the responsibility of the patient or family member.

If your healthcare benefits are a part of a Managed Care Network that contracts with Angel Medical Center, the applicable information related to the service provided will be forwarded to them. The managed care company will then determine the benefit amount that is to be processed for payment. Routinely, benefits paid, as well as co-pays (private balances after insurance) under such an agreement are not based upon charges, but rather a pre-determined, agreed upon rate for the specific service provided.

Certain professional services provided by physicians are billed separately. These could include:

• Emergency room physicians
• Radiologists
• Pathologists
• Anesthesiologists

Once you are discharged, the hospital’s billing office will bill your insurance company directly for all hospital charges. Once billed, we will work with your insurance company to resolve the bill. After receiving payment or denial from your insurance carrier, you will be notified of any remaining balance.

This is an exciting time for you and your family. We want to do everything possible to make your experience here at Angel Medical Center a pleasant one. Please don’t hesitate to call if you have questions.
